As other people suggested: SSH. PuTTY http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/download.html can do it. Can run, say xclock (I'm running an X server under W32 at work, tunneling through a NAT box), but from Linux, not from Solaris. Probably OpenSSH misconfigurat5ion.
